Bud Light recently aired another commercial on their "not too light / not too heavy" campaign featuring paintball. The "too light" part has this guy hitting his target, but the paintball is so slow that it bounces off. The "too heavy" part shows him calling in an airstrike and his target is completely covered with paint.I looked back at some of the other paintball commercials I've seen and noticed that the majority of them involve paintball being played in the woods.
The marketing gurus at companies with big budgets (like Budweiser) know that their audience can identify more with playing paintball in the woods than they can with playing in a paintball tournament. After all, most people start out playing in the woods and naturally progress to scenario paintball games or tournaments. The good news is that commercials like these remind players about where they started playing - in the woods.
